1. Who These Terms Apply To
Pocket Accountant is operated by V Investment Capital LLC ("Pocket Accountant," "we," "us," "our"). "You" means the person or business using the Service.
2. Agreement and Eligibility
By using Pocket Accountant, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, capable of forming a binding agreement, and using the app for lawful business or personal finance purposes.
If you use the app on behalf of a company, client, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.
3. Changes to These Terms or the App
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you through the app, by email, or by posting an updated version at least 14 days before they take effect where required by law.
Your continued use of Pocket Accountant after an update takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and may cancel your account.
We may also add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Where reasonably possible, we will provide advance notice of any material feature discontinuation that affects your ability to access your data.
4. Your Account and Security
You may need an account to use Pocket Accountant. You agree to provide accurate and current account information and to keep your login credentials secure.
You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account, except to the extent caused by our failure to meet our security obligations under these Terms.
You must notify us promptly at hello@pocketaccountant.app if you believe your account, password, device, or business data has been accessed without permission.
5. Your Business Data and Content
You own the business data, accounting records, uploaded files, customer/vendor information, receipts, invoices, bills, reports, and other content you submit to Pocket Accountant ("Your Content").
You grant Pocket Accountant a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, reproduce, transmit, display, format, back up, and use Your Content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the Service.
This license ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for copies retained in routine backups for a limited period or as required by Section 16.
You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and rights related to all content you enter, upload, import, approve, send, or export through the app.
6. Information About Other People or Businesses
Pocket Accountant may allow you to enter information about customers, vendors, clients, employees, contractors, owners, or other third parties.
You represent that you have the authority, consent, or lawful basis needed to provide and use that information in Pocket Accountant.
7. Accounting, Tax, and Financial Disclaimer
Pocket Accountant is not a CPA firm, law firm, tax advisor, investment advisor, payroll provider, bank, or financial advisor.
The app provides bookkeeping tools, reports, estimates, organization features, and automation support for informational purposes only.
Reports, tax estimates, Schedule C summaries, AI responses, dashboards, and suggestions may be inaccurate, incomplete, or based on information you entered incorrectly.
You should review all information and consult a qualified professional before filing taxes, making accounting decisions, making legal decisions, applying for financing, or relying on financial reports.
8. Bank Connections and Third-Party Account Data
If you connect a bank account through Plaid or another provider, you authorize Pocket Accountant and its service providers to access, store, and use bank connection data to provide bank feed, balance, transaction, categorization, matching, and reconciliation features.
We do not control your financial institution or third-party account provider.
We are not responsible for delays, unavailable bank feeds, inaccurate third-party data, duplicate transactions, missing transactions, or fees charged by third parties.
9. AI Assistant and Automated Features
Pocket Accountant may include AI-powered tools, automated suggestions, digital assistants, categorization support, or report explanations.
These features may generate incorrect, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate responses.
You are responsible for reviewing all AI and automated outputs. AI features are not a substitute for professional legal, tax, accounting, investment, or financial advice.
10. Subscriptions, Payments, and Cancellations
Pocket Accountant may offer free and paid plans. Paid plans may unlock additional features, usage limits, reports, AI features, exports, bank feeds, or support options.
Prices, billing periods, renewal terms, trial terms, and cancellation options will be shown before purchase.
Web purchases may be processed through Stripe or another payment processor. Purchases made through Apple or Google are managed by the applicable app store account and are subject to Apple's or Google's payment, cancellation, and refund rules.
Unless stated otherwise at checkout, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.
You may cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future billing but does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period except where required by law or stated at checkout.
Canceling a subscription does not automatically delete your account or data, and deleting the app from your device does not cancel a subscription.
We may change subscription pricing prospectively with notice before your next renewal. Continuing your subscription after the effective date of a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
11. Mobile App Stores
If you download Pocket Accountant through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or another app marketplace, your use may also be subject to that marketplace's terms.
App stores may handle purchases, renewals, refunds, and subscription management for purchases made through them, and we are not responsible for their handling of those functions.
12. Emails and Communications
You agree that we may contact you electronically about your account, security, password resets, invoices, reports, subscription status, support requests, product updates, and important service notices.
These electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing where permitted by law.
If we send marketing communications, you may opt out where required, but transactional and security communications may still be sent.
13. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Pocket Accountant to:
- Violate any law, regulation, contract, or third-party right.
- Upload malware, harmful files, unlawful content, or content you do not have permission to use.
- Attempt to access another user's account, data, bank connection, files, or business records.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, disrupt, interfere with, or attack the app or its infrastructure.
- Use the app for fraud, spam, phishing, deception, identity theft, money laundering, or unlawful financial activity.
- Misrepresent your identity, business, customer/vendor information, financial records, or app activity.
- Use the app to create, train, or improve competing artificial intelligence or machine-learning models without our written permission.
- Bypass subscriptions, access controls, security measures, rate limits, usage limits, or app review restrictions.
We may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including suspension or termination under Section 17.
14. Third-Party Services
Pocket Accountant may integrate with or link to third-party services, including Plaid, Stripe, SendGrid, Apple, Google, OpenAI, hosting providers, banks, and other service providers.
We are not responsible for third-party services, third-party terms, third-party outages, or third-party data practices.
15. Beta, Sandbox, and Pre-Release Features
Some features may be labeled beta, test, sandbox, preview, experimental, or pre-release.
These features may be incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or changed without notice, and may be discontinued at any time. You use them at your own risk.
16. Account Cancellation and Deletion
Export any invoices, transactions, reports, receipts and other records you need before requesting deletion. Completed deletion cannot be reversed.
Request account deletion
Sign in and open Settings → Delete Account → Delete my account. Type DELETE to confirm (capitalization does not matter), enter your current password if your account has one, and review the billing notice. You will receive an exact deletion deadline and support reference.
If you cannot sign in, email hello@pocketaccountant.app from the address associated with your account, with the subject Account Deletion Request. Support will verify ownership before recording the request. Do not send your password. The 30-day window begins when the verified request is recorded, not when the email was sent.
Pocket Accountant keeps your active account and saved books while you use the service. A confirmed account-deletion request starts one fixed 30-day (720-hour) reopening window. The exact deadline appears in your account and does not move when you repeat the request.
After the deadline, the scheduled deletion service permanently removes your account, accounting records, settings, authentication records, bank-feed data, upload records and active upload files. Provider failures or incomplete cleanup are retried and referred to support; completion is confirmed only after the purge and required cleanup succeed.
This deployment declares a backup retention period of 7 days. Backups created before deletion expire under that configured retention schedule and are not used to reopen deleted accounts. A restored backup must have completed deletions reapplied before the app serves users.
A minimal deletion record contains keyed, pseudonymous identifiers and actual event times, without your raw user ID or financial records. An encrypted email address is kept temporarily to retry your completion notice; it is removed when the email provider accepts the message or after 30 days of unsuccessful delivery following completion. Minimal deletion evidence is retained for 365 days after completion or reopening.
Payment platforms and other service providers may retain records they are required to keep under their own policies or law. Pocket Accountant removes data through available provider APIs and tracks requests requiring provider support. Support records a keyed receipt when it verifies deletion or required retention. A minimal marketing-suppression record may remain with our email provider to prevent delivery without renewed consent. A support reference is available if a provider action or completion email needs attention.
When you confirm deletion, we immediately queue and attempt to stop Stripe and Google Play renewal. Provider failures are retried; until cancellation is confirmed, charges may still occur. Deletion does not itself issue a refund. For refund questions, use the provider that billed you.
Apple controls cancellation of Apple subscriptions. Open Apple subscription management, cancel your subscription, and acknowledge that billing may continue until you cancel it. You can still request deletion after acknowledging this notice; we do not claim to cancel Apple billing for you.
Manage Google Play subscriptions
Before the exact deletion deadline, you may cancel the request through email validation and reopen on the Starter plan. Removed bank connections require reconnection; canceled subscriptions require a new purchase. After the deadline, reopening is unavailable.

17. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Pocket Accountant if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for other users or the app, failed to pay required fees, used the app for unlawful activity, or created security, legal, or operational concerns.
Where practical and not prohibited by law or a legal/security investigation, we will provide notice of the reason for suspension or termination.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including Sections 5, 7, 16, 18, 19, 20, and 21, will survive.
18. Disclaimers
Pocket Accountant is provided "as is" and "as available."
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, and error-free operation.
We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from data loss.
You are responsible for reviewing your records and maintaining appropriate backups and exports for your business needs.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pocket Accountant and V Investment Capital LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, exemplary, or lost-profit damages; loss of business; loss of goodwill; loss of data; tax penalties; financing decisions; professional fees; or business interruption arising from or related to your use of the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims related to Pocket Accountant will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Pocket Accountant for the Service in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred dollars.
These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory of liability and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
20. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Pocket Accountant, V Investment Capital LLC, and our service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your unlawful use of the app, Your Content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of third-party rights, or your misuse of connected services.
21. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us at hello@pocketaccountant.app and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
Subject to that informal process, you and Pocket Accountant agree that any dispute not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
You and Pocket Accountant each waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
22. Export and Sanctions Compliance
You may not use Pocket Accountant if you are prohibited from using the app under applicable laws, export controls, sanctions, or restricted-party rules.
You agree not to use the app in a way that violates U.S. export control or sanctions laws.
23. Notices
We may give you notice under these Terms by email to the address on your account or by posting in the app.

24. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, labor disputes, internet or utility failures, or failures of third-party service providers.
25. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with any additional terms presented for a specific feature or purchase, form the entire agreement between you and Pocket Accountant regarding the app and supersede any prior agreements on this subject.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts remain in effect, and the unenforceable part will be interpreted to reflect the parties' original intent as closely as possible.
Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.
You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
There are no third-party beneficiaries to these Terms.
